Formation Potentiel redox et pH : Comprendre leur influence sur la relation entre le sol et la plante

REDOX POTENTIAL AND PH TRAINING: WHAT YOUR SOIL ANALYSIS DOESN'T TELL YOU ABOUT THE SOIL-PLANT RELATIONSHIP

Develop agroecological practices by mastering the pH-redox pair, two parameters that govern the health of your soils and crops, based on the research of Olivier Husson, CIRAD researcher.

Why do Redox Potential and pH matter in agronomy?

Redox potential is the most underestimated parameter in agronomy. Combined with pH, it governs the bioavailability of nutrients, plant health, and resistance to pests and diseases. Understanding this mechanism means acting where few advisors still look.

Comprendre le sujet

THE REALITY OF THE GROUND

TWO PLOTS, IDENTICAL ON PAPER. TWO DIFFERENT OUTCOMES IN THE FIELD

Same conductivity, same organic matter content, same inputs — and yet one performs better, grows better, and yields better than the other. Why do some crops resist disease better than others, on the same soil, under the same conditions? Why does an element present in sufficient quantity in the soil analysis sometimes remain unavailable to the plant? Conventional soil analysis does not always provide the answer: redox potential, combined with pH, often accounts for a large part of it.

Profil agriculteurs et salarié agricoles - Formation Potentiel redox et pH

"Despite correct soil analyses and properly applied recommendations, certain blockages persist: apparent deficiencies despite adequate nutrient levels, crops more vulnerable to pests and diseases in certain years, without a satisfactory explanation. Redox potential accounts for much of this discrepancy."

Conseiller agronomique - Profil agriculteurs et salarié agricoles - Formation Potentiel redox et pH

"Your diagnoses stop at conventional indicators (pH, organic matter, CEC), which does not always explain why a recommendation fails to produce the expected effect for a client. Redox potential remains a blind spot, even though it directly governs the bioavailability of the nutrients you recommend."

Enseignant - Profil agriculteurs et salarié agricoles - Formation Potentiel redox et pH

"You must convey a nuanced understanding of soil function without a structured framework on redox potential: the research of Olivier Husson (CIRAD) has existed for ten years but remains little disseminated in agronomy curricula."

Profil étudiant - Profil agriculteurs et salarié agricoles - Formation Potentiel redox et pH

"Your curriculum rarely covers redox potential, depriving you of a decisive analytical framework for interpreting phenomena that conventional soil analysis cannot explain — a gap that becomes apparent as early as your first technical assignments."

Profil centre de formation - Profil agriculteurs et salarié agricoles - Formation Potentiel redox et pH

"Your catalogue already covers soil analysis and fertility, but lacks a module addressing a parameter still rare in existing training offerings, which limits your ability to stand out to an audience seeking up-to-date content."

Profil manager - Formation Potentiel redox et pH

"Your advisors or technicians do not always share the same agronomic reading grid when faced with the same symptom in the field, resulting in inconsistent recommendations depending on who intervenes with the client."
